About Pedal Paws
Our Team
Meet Zara - Owner/ lead trainer
Growing up on a dairy farm in New Zealand, I have always had a love and passion for animals, specifically horses and dogs. My journey started with getting training for my own dogs and seeing the great results professional dog training can provide. This inspired me to get qualified as a dog trainer and start my own dog walking and training business - Pedal Paws.
I love helping people who may be struggling with their own dog's behaviour, specifically reactivity, as I have owned a dog with reactivity issues and know how hard it can be. I understand the feeling of being nervous, judged, or not knowing how to deal with these types of situations when out in the environment.
My business has grown from a one-woman team to now employing 5 amazing staff members, who have the same love and passion for dogs that I do.
Meet Sally
Sally found her love and passion for dogs through rescues and is where she got her own dog, Tinkerbell. Tinkerbell was reactive and had behavioural issues which led Sally to successfully train her and spark her passion for working in rescues, adopting/ fostering, and the rehabilitation of dogs.
Sally started her dog journey as a volunteer which led to her working in doggy daycare for over 5 years. Sally has also been working with the Stafford Rescue since 2017 and the Minis Bulldog Rescue Club for over 4 years, bringing so much knowledge and experience to the team. Sally has a sound understanding of dog behaviour and is able to keep dogs safe, but most of all happy when out on their adventures.
Meet Bec
Bec is originally from Scotland and has always loved working and living with dogs. Bec’s whole life has centered on the care and well-being of animals. After leaving school, Bec went on to a prestigious college in Scotland to undertake a qualification in animal husbandry and animal care, working alongside veterinarians.
Her desire to travel the world took over and Bec made her way to Australia where she has lived for the past 10 years.
Animals are Bec’s life and always will be, her enthusiasm and love for all dogs is what makes her a special part of the team.
Meet Hayley
Hayley has grown up with all different breeds of dogs from heelers, rottweilers, jack russells you name it. She has always wanted to work in the animal industry and loves to help animals in whatever way she can.
Hayley has over 7 years of experience in the animal industry working in kennels, doggy daycare, and grooming. She also has her own dog-sitting business, which is a great additional service we highly recommend to our clients.
Hayley has a love and passion for anything dog-related and brings great knowledge and skill when it comes to handling and understanding dog behaviour.
Meet Marcus
I met Marcus a year ago when he and his girlfriend started training with Obi, this is where his passion grew for working with dogs, he inquired about how to get into dog training, as to which he started his NDTF course last year.
Brooklyn and Jove absolutely adore him and highly approve, they are my tester dogs for anyone starting with the team!
He will be working a few days a week and build from there, which will be of great help to myself and the team to help with the workload and growing demand of dog walking and training.
This will also be great for dogs we work with that are nervous around males, to help with building their confidence.
Meet Tamsin
Tamsin comes with experience and knowledge of handling and working with all breeds, she has worked previously in kennels and doggy day care, Brooklyn gave her the tick of approval and loved her
She has a passion and love for all dogs as we do and will be a valued part of the team, in time she wants to further her knowledge and study of dog behaviour and do her training course.
